70 years later it is reborn as a 5-star hotel.

We renovated the former Pousada de São Lourenço to transform it into a house. And a house that is the only 5-star hotel in Serra da Estrela. The Pousada de São Lourenço is now the Casa de São Lourenço.

An icon of the Serra da Estrela, opened in 1948, Casa de São Lourenço is probably one of the hotels in Portugal with the most interesting views: the Serra da Estrela, Manteigas and the Glacier Valley.

The hand of Maria Keil, one of the most important Portuguese designers of the 20th century, was responsible for the comfort of the interiors and the design of all the furniture that remains to this day.

70 years later, respecting this unique history, we decided to breathe new life into this project, focusing on the beauty of the landscape, following Rogério de Azevedo's initial concept, restoring Maria Keil's beautiful estate, but giving space to the contemporary work of Portuguese designers and art, and introducing the comfort of a Mountain Spa where the pure air of the altitude and the beauty of the panorama are the fundamental themes.
